From reading these documents, to creating goals and attending meetings, I've got you covered.
The core of my approach comes from a deep passion for disability justice and commitment to believing ALL students deserve (and are entitled to) a free, appropriate, public education. My goal is to empower parents to be informed and involved in the most effective and appropriate education plan for their child.
As a parent of an amazing and differently abled student, I've experienced the feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, anger, and fear that come from not understanding the world your child is expected to learn in. As a person with Dyslexia, I've also felt the frustration and expectation to learn in that same world.
I had people in my life who didn't give up on me: my mother, my aunt, my science teacher. I had one-on-one speech therapy. I had a nanny who spent all day playing turn-taking games with me.
